Fatal Vision teaches high school students the dangers of drunk and distracted driving. In the one-day program, supervised students wear alcohol impairment simulation goggles while driving an ATV through a course marked with traffic cones. Students see the impact of drunk driving when the course is finished, and they count the number of cones they hit. Fatal Vision also includes a course centered on distracted driving, where students must text answers to simple questions while behind the wheel.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is in charge of scheduling Fatal Vision events at local high schools. Download this PDF to find out how to contact the ALEA public information officer in your area to schedule a program. Click here for information about ALEA.
