County Farmer Visits U.S. Rep In Washington, D.C.
U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Birmingham, met with constituents during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s biennial Washington Legislative Conference in the nation’s capital March 5-7. During breakfast meetings, farmers and their congresswoman discussed issues of local and national relevance. Marengo County Student Studying Agriculture Earns College Scholarship
Auburn University student Taylor Huggins of Marengo County received a $1,750 scholarship from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and Marengo County Farmers Federation. She was recognized at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Scholarship Reception at the Ham Wilson Livestock Arena in Auburn Sept. 20. Huggins is a sophomore studying animal sciences, pre-vet track, and is from Sweet Water. Farmers Federations Sponsor Annual UWA Fish Fry
Over 485 people attended the University of West Alabama Fish Fry Sept. 6 before the football game versus Miles College. Farmers Federations from Greene, Choctaw, Sumter, Marengo, Pickens, Washington and Hale counties sponsored the annual event.
UWA President Ken Tucker, the provost, the athletic director, Livingston Mayor Tom Tartt, Rep. AJ McCampbell, Rep. Ralph Howard & Sen. Bobby Singleton attended.
