Local Agriculture Leader Meets With Legislators
A.L.F.A. Leader and Madison County agriculture representative Samantha Carpenter met with Alabama Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon, R-Capshaw, during a dinner Feb. 21 at the Alabama Farmers Federation home office in Montgomery. The dinner was part of a weeklong session for members of the Agricultural Leaders for Alabama (A.L.F.A.) class focused on Federation policy and governmental affairs.
Madison County Students Studying Agriculture Receive College Scholarships
Auburn University students and scholarship recipients from Madison County were recognized during the Alabama Farmers Federation 2016 Scholarship Recipients Luncheon Aug. 27 at the Ham Wilson Arena in Auburn. Jake Patterson graduated from Buckhorn High School and studies agronomy and soils, production track. Connor Webster of New Hope graduated from Randolph School and studies agronomy and soils, production track. The $1,750 scholarships were funded by the Madison County Farmers Federation and the Federation’s Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation. Raby Honored As Director Emeritus
Congratulations to W.E. Raby, center, who was honored at the Madison County Farmers Federation annual meeting Aug. 8. Raby was named director emeritus during the meeting where he was recognized for his years of service and dedication to the organization.
