County Farmers Visit U.S. Rep In Washington, D.C.
U.S. Rep. Martha Roby, R-Montgomery, met with constituents during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s (AFF) biennial Washington Legislative Conference in the nation’s capital March 5-7. During breakfast meetings, farmers and their congressman discussed issues of local and national relevance. Houston County Farmers Federation Earns 2018 Award of Excellence
The Houston County Farmers Federation received the Award for Excellence Dec. 3. during the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 97th Annual Meeting in Montgomery. To earn the distinction, counties must score at least 80 points out of 100 on the award application, which covers involvement in agricultural programs, governmental affairs, county Women’s Leadership and Young Farmers committees.

King Wins Ribbon In Annual State Sewing Contest
Jacqueline King of Houston County received second place in the Christmas tree skirt contest at the Alabama Farmers Federation’s 46th Commodity Producers Conference in Montgomery Aug. 4. She won $100, courtesy of the Federation’s Women’s Leadership Division.
