Cleburne County Comes To Alabama's Capital City

Members Participate In Prayer Breakfast
On Jan. 23, Cleburne County Farmers Federation (CCFF) leaders attended the Cleburne County Republican Party Prayer Breakfast to hear State Sen. Gerald Dial of Lineville and State Rep. Bob Fincher of Woodland discuss the upcoming legislative session.

Former County President Celebrates Milestone Birthday
Former Cleburne County Farmers Federation President Joe Braden celebrated his 90th birthday Jan. 18 with friends from the Federation and other folks from Cleburne County. He and his wife Jean are members of the county Federation board.

Cleburne County Farm-City Contest Winners Recognized
Alfa Insurance agent Sandy Sanders visited local school Jan. 10 to recognize winners of the county's Farm-City contests.

Each student was awarded $25 and the Teacher was awarded $50 by the Cleburne County Farmers Federation for their participation in the 2016 Farm-City Contests.
Jimmerson TREASURE Forest Hosts North Region Field Day
The Alabama TREASURE Forest Association (ATFA) honored Gean and Jane Harris, its newest certified members, Oct. 27 during a field day at Jimmerson TREASURE Forest in Fruithurst. Congratulations Wendell and Nan Gibbs of Gibbs Farms in Cleburne County, Alabama's finalist for the 2016 Swisher Sweets / Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year. Arkansas farmer David Wildy was named the overall winner at a luncheon today in Moultrie, Ga.
County Federation Holds Membership Drive During Cleburn County Fair
The Cleburne County Farmers Federation set up a membership registration tent during the Cleburne County Fair Aug. 12-13. Fair goers could also register to win a car seat and a booster seat, courtesy of the county Federation. Winners were Kati Daniel Heflin and Brittany Daniel, both of Ranburne.
Gibbs Farms Recognized During County Annual Meeting
The Cleburne County Farmers Federation held its Annual Meeting Aug. 9. State Sen. Gerald Dial, R-Lineville, and State Rep. Bob Fincher, R-Rocky Branch, presented Wendell and Nan Gibbs with a resolution plaque for being named Alabama's 2016 Farm of Distinction. Secretary of State John Merrill was event's guest speaker.

Cleburne County Hosts Cook-Off
At the Cleburne County Farmers Federation board of directors meeting June 14, winners of the Women's Leadership Committee's cooking contest were recognized.
